Inspiration is a hub of ideas that comes silently or rings like a bell to mind. It may come like a whisper or a little ‘violent’ like bell rings. The ‘bell rings’ are a little hard, inspiration wouldn’t come wholly at once, but bits by bits. What started as a mere whisper begins to enlarge and accumulate more details that would gradually make it a whole and worthy of writing. The ‘more details’ comes from experience, words/phrases heard or spoken, books read, songs heard, people known, historical occurrences, etc.
Except during Writers’ Block, inspiration can come anytime and anywhere. Although I wouldn’t deny that some people get inspiration while in some certain places, e.g houseroof, bathroom, toilet, waterside, etc. (bathroom and toilet are awkward, right?) A friend once related that when he started writing, he used to get inspiration only when doing his toilet, and whenever he did, he would use one hand to hold his trousers halfway, rushed into his room to get those ideas written down.
Since inspiration comes anytime and anywhere, it is essential that writers should ‘gadget’ themselves with writing materials – a pen and a jotter would do.
Hmmm….well, I can’t vouchsafe that certificate, intelligence, experience or any other criteria of life makes one a writer. It seems to have a mystery behind it. It’s like a game of chance. Kind of choosy, you know?

How to explain what I don’t understand myself? I started as a reader. An innocent mind reading literatures. A nasty one I call myself. I read for four years (2008-2012) before I wrote my first movie script on Dec. 1st, 2012.
Already discussed in the latter party of ‘WHEN’
How to know if one is REALLY talented? This is hard. And scarce. I remember I once: ‘singing is a natural talent. To know who is really talented in it is hard.” Same goes for writing. Many feel that since friends and mates write, why can’t they? Funny. That’s why we have what I call Fire Inspiration and Mirage Inspiration, both are FAKE inspirations!
Imagine my elder brothers and sisters in Oyewole and Okeola families (maternal) and or Jimoh and Balogun Families (paternal) feel ‘intimidated’ and or ‘inspired’ that Jimson Jaat Taofik (me) writes, they too can write. Some feel like ‘what is even special in writing?’ Writing is bigger than what is seen. I call it ‘SCD.’
1) Slave – An inspired person is forever a slave of Nature. Nature inspires him without thinking what people will say. Mad. Crazy. Stupid. A writer is as normal as any other person until inspiration comes, no matter where or when or how, he MUST write or get his brain ‘hurt’, ‘burst’ by the incoming ideas, especially ‘bell-like.’
2) Constant – Someone once said life is like a bicycle, to maintain the balance, one must keep cycling (riding). So is writing. One needs to keep writing to maintain ‘a communication line’ with the ‘Inspirational World’. Or else…..
3) Die – Yes. Die. Inspiration dies when due attention is not paid to it. Or when it is not developed.
