Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Job Description
- The Mechanical Technician must have a good knowledge of Operational and Mechanical Practices in an E&P Company.
- He is expected to have an in depth knowledge of offshore /swamp production engineering and operations.
- The candidate must be able to lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, work in a team environment, and be able to effectively communicate within and outside the company.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the deconstruction of equipment and ensure that is free of residual waste.
- Responsible for repair of high speed and rotating equipment (pumps, Air compressors, Gas compressors, valve/actuator etc) as well as Installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Troubleshoot, calibrate and analyse field control and automation equipment during abnormal conditions
- Conduct routine maintenance and operation of all pressure, flow, temperature and pressure measuring and controlling instrument equipment
- Test and inspect all control and automation fire and gas. etc equipment
- Record all preventive and corrective maintenance findings, ,breakdown, feedbacks and improvements
- Develop, design. build, test, and inspect mechanical devices and systems, such as machines, tools, and engines
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability
- Carry out routine checks on all mechanical and industrial equipment
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications and Required Competencies
- OND / HND in Mechanical Engineering or in any core engineering discipline (Electrical or Instrumentation etc) with a minimum of Upper Credit.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant hands-onexperience in the oil & gas industry with a proven track record of plant and equipment maintenance.
- Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions.
- Analytical thinking, problem solving. creativity.
- Ability to explain complex processes in simple terms.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintaining broad spectrum.
- Proficient in design and calculation software
- Must be very analytical and capable of delivering results
- Must be capable of working with multi-functional teams in project execution
- Assist and support HSES teams in ensuring compliance to Safety and Security Policies and procedures at Company’s locations
- Champion the enforcement of standards and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
